Project details and challenges
Project context
A ground-floor retail unit in the heart of the Mabillon district (Paris 6th), taken over by a ready-to-wear brand. The space, partitioned and technically outdated, had to be brought up to standard and rethought to offer a smooth customer journey, a shop window that reads clearly from the street and fittings able to absorb collections renewed every season.
EKSY Conseil’s mission
Owner’s representation and worksite management: framing the retail brief, analysing the lease and co-ownership constraints, competitive tendering, checking quotations, coordinating the trades (electrical, flooring, painting, joinery) and monitoring the opening schedule.
Key constraints
A unit on the ground floor of a building, with a load-bearing post in a central position, a shop window to preserve and strict co-ownership rules (worksite hours, protection of the common areas, drainage). The works had to fit into a short calendar window before the commercial season, with no storage area available on site.
Solutions delivered
Cladding the central post to turn it into the pivot of the customer path, resilient wood-tone flooring laid continuously, matt white walls to maximise natural light, recessed spotlights complemented by track lighting to dramatise the rails, bespoke black wall rails, a display bench and a discreet welcome counter.
Results & client benefits
A boutique delivered on schedule and ready to open: open volumes, an unobstructed shop window, adjustable lighting and fittings designed for collection rotation. The unit has gained presence from the street as well as comfort of use for the sales team.
